Onward.
I’m not one for resolutions, really. Every year mine was to quit smoking and I never did. In December 2009 when I found out I was pregnant, I resolved to quit smoking, I did it, and I didn’t start again. So that’s out.
Anyway, here are some things I’d like to do more/practice harder/care more about/etc. in 2012. I guess technically they are resolutions, which does indeed...

Sick baby is sick.
Mac has been tummy-sick off and on since Wednesday. He isn’t eating much but is pretty happy most of the time, I guess, but he’s way sleepier than normal. I gave him Pedialyte today and he looked at me like I was straight-up trying to poison him. Now he’s asleep in my room and I alternately want to snuggle him and kick him out of there so I can watch the episode of The Closer I...
After three days of stomach nastiness, that moment when you can’t figure out if you’re hungry or nauseous & are terrified of making the wrong decision. Me. Now.
animalstalkinginallcaps:
ATIAC will return on Saturday, December 31st because I’ve been sick for six days straight and all I want to do is sleep forever.
I quit smoking day before yesterday, so the veins in my neck may or may not be prominently featured in this video and I may or may not have said “fuck you” to a can of soup earlier.
(They are prominently featured, I definitely told a can of...

Of Christmas past.
Been out of the loop with the evil 24-hour stomach plague that seems to be making the rounds. Husband had it last week, the MIL, the niece, and I had it Tuesday, and Mac had an abbreviated version last night and the night before, but not during the day. Ugh. Anyway, Christmas run-down:
Christmas Eve was nice. I made mac and cheese and roasted brussell sprouts and we watched A Christmas Story....

I want to start a revolution.
I want to raise a new generation of girls that love themselves and their bodies. I want them know that beauty doesn’t define self-worth and stupid is never cute. Money doesn’t equal happiness, nor does marriage equal success. Let’s make them understand that everyone…
Ditto, and I’m raising a feminist son.

Client: I don’t think of our company as a brand.
Me: Well, we’re providing an organized service to a wide client base under a singular banner. The company is absolutely a brand.
Client: I don’t know… I think of companies like Nikon and Canon as a brand. They put their names on things. What do we put our name on? I just don’t think we’re a brand.
Me: What if I made you a...

– Ta-Nehisi Coates, Ron Paul’s Shaggy Defense
Besides being unapologetically racist, Ron Paul is just as mendacious and venal as any other politician, kids. He vehemently defended the racist newsletters and repeated their bullshit until it became politically inconvenient for him. He’s just a total...

Internet, why you so slow?
Is today the magical cut-off date for Internet Christmas shopping or something? Everything is moving so. slow.
Mac is almost on to hour three of morning nap (WTF?), husband is puking his guts out (FLU?), and I’m bored as hell.
I got dressed for work but then hubs asked me to stay home since he’s too sick to deal with Cormac. I need/want to bake cookies but I am way too OCD start...
Monday Check In
Obsessing over: Finishing shopping, baking one million cookies, wrapping all the things, work work work, shipping in time, where the hell are my Christmas cards, etc. AKA Everything. I have anxiety disorder.
Working on: A very important work thing. (It’s only very important if you care, and this morning, I do not think that I do.)
Thinking about: More coffee.
Anticipating:...
Bought all the things. Buy more. Wrap more. Bake more. Send coffee.
Addictions.
I’m about to check the calorie count in a Starbucks caramel machiato and I’m doing it here because I need the peer support.
…
Wow. That is totally not as bad as I thought it was going to be. 240 calories in soy grande. I can handle that. Probably not everyday (as I may or may not have been doing all month…), but at least three times a week. Score.

So my 13 y/o brother is on Xbox Live with his friends in the other room and the past 20 minutes I’ve heard him say
Dude why do you use gay as an insult?
You guys are fucking sexist, this is why I’m the only one of us who has a girlfriend
Wow that wasn’t racist or anything
No seriously gay does not mean stupid

Oh noes.
I realized I didn’t do any outfit of the day posts this week, which sucks because I’ve been looking cute. Pink corduroys? Check. Wolf sweater? Check. Crazy striped sweater with adorable gray wedges? Check. DAMN ME.
OK. Tomorrow is another day. And hey, it’ll be casual Friday. Ah, the sweet sweet business casual life. Barf.
Run for it.
You know what helps you run farther, faster, & harder? Tying a 90 pound German Shepherd/Lab mix to your waist and letting him lead. Jesus help me.
